Flow closes Series A funding round led by Bain Capital Ventures

Flow raises Series A from Bain and Brian Lee

Who gets: Flow, known for its cloud-based software solution, uses artificial intelligence to eliminate many challenges currently facing cross-border commerce

Amount raised:$16 million Series A financing round. This wraps up the fundraising effort that was initially announced last month when the startup raised $13 million.

Who invests: Bain Capital Ventures led the effort Fung Capital, the investment arm of the Fung family in Hong Kong, and Forerunner Ventures, also participated. Among Flow’s previous investors are Brian Lee, CEO of The Honest Co.; Gilt Groupe founders Alexandra Wilkis Wilson and Alexis Maybank; Zola.com founder and CEO Shan-Lyn Ma; and David Tisch, creator of “shoppable Instagram” Spring.

What the CEO says :“We are thrilled to partner with such a prestigious group of investors, whose collective track-record with and experience of building powerful new disruptive technologies and brands in the retail space will be instrumental as we work to eliminate friction for merchants and uncertainty for consumers when shopping internationally,” said Flow CEO and co-founder Rob Keve.

Company details: The Series A investment will be used to help brands and retailers expand their commerce business globally while improving the customer experience.
