L’Oreal and Founders Factory pick three new startups for beauty tech accelerator

Small lines with social media savvy are winning top-dollar bids from cosmetics giants seeking growth.

Sampler, which gets product samples into the right audiences hands rather than just handing them out randomly, and Riviter, an AI powered search engine that can identify products within images, will join the six month programme.

It has also selected Alegra, a digital online platform for brands, which was previously part of Founders Factory’s mediatech accelerator programme with the Guardian.

“Merging the innovation capacities of L’Oréal with those of beauty tech startups creates a powerful synergy which helps to address the aspirations of our consumers and to build a new generation of personalised and smart digital services,” said L’Oreal chief digital officer Lubomira Rochet.
